Getting together, keeping oneself informed, equipping oneself
The Salon de la Photo is eager to pay tribute to the profession of photographer and enhance its public profile at a time when it deserves our full support.
The Salon de la Photo is giving the ZOOM awards for the second year running.
12 photo magazine editors each choose their favourite up-and-coming professional photographer (French or living in France) who has real but as yet insufficiently recognized talent and whose work deserves to be brought to the attention of the general public.
See who the 12 selected photographers are and vote for your favourite from 1 June onwards.
The 12 magazine editors are Dimitri Beck ( Polka magazine ), Sophie Bernard ( Images magazine ), Guy Boyer ( Connaissances des Arts ), Stéphane Brasca ( De l’air ), Guy-Michel Cogné ( Nat’Images ), Didier de Faÿs ( Photographie.com ), Agnès Grégoire ( Photo ), Sylvie Hugues (Réponses Photo),Ronan Loaëc ( Chasseur d’Images ), Nicolas Mériau ( Image & Nature ), Vincent Trujillo ( Le Monde de la Photo ), Bruno Waraschitz ( Déclic Photo ). On 13 September they will form a jury chaired by Lucien CLERGUE (Académie Française) and select the overall winner.
On 6 October 2011 at 11 a.m. the names of the two award-winning photographers (one chosen by the public, one by the press) will be announced at the Salon de la Photo.
An exhibition of their work at the Salon will be opened at the same time.
In 2010, ZOOMS were awarded to:
Nicolas DHERVILLERS (Photo press Zoom award)
Christophe SIDAMON-PESSON (public Zoom award).
